Why do some people offer in this world and others do not ?
It is described in vedic scriptures that one suffers or enjoys relatively according to his past activities done in this and previous lives. It is also clearly described that though one can be somewhat relatively happy in this material existence, it is not possible to be actually happy. That relative happiness is actually an experience of cessation of one's suffering. This material world is described in scriptures as a prison world. No one can be happy in prison life, although one may be a first-class prisoner inside a nice room in the prison house and other person may be a third-class prisoner. Instead of endeavoring to improve oneself from third to first, one should try to be released from the prison altogether. Because unless there is a change in the heart or mentality of disobeying the will of the God, one will always be misusing his independence (against his own benefit because of his conditoned nature) and will degrade himself to a third class prisoner level by his activites. This is because there is no real change in the heart. The problem is we are trying to be the enjoyer seperate from the God, against the will of God and against the nature of one's own self !
One should purify oneself by proper desires of serving God in loving service and become free from this mentality which is binding us to this prison house of material existence. That is the real goal for all living entities. To remind us this goal, the Lord sends his representatives, gives out scriptures and also personally descends to this world.
